Scott Stokely to hold clinics across New Zealand in December 2022

He rongo pai, e hoa ma - Good news, everyone! Throughout December arguably the world’s most famous, and most experienced disc golf teacher is touring NZ and stopping in six locations to provide 2-hour clinics to enthusiastic disc golfers.

One of my earliest Internet memories is from 1995, downloading a video of Scott setting the world distance record of 200.01 metres with a Discraft X-Clone. On a 9600bps dial-up modem the 4 second video took 3 hours to download, was in highly compressed 144p format, and the disc was visible in only 4 frames. His throwing arm hit his back so hard I thought he may have dislocated a shoulder. He broke his own backhand world record in 1998 exceeding the 211-metre mark. In 2001 he achieved an unofficial world forehand distance record of 173 metres. He was runner-up at the World champs twice.

Scott has given more private lessons, group lessons, and clinics than any other disc golfer in history. The Scott Stokely Method comprises six basic principles, which once understood provide a disc golfer with everything they need to independently progress their game.

After transcribing an entire clinic of these six principles, I can confidently assure you that no matter what level of disc golfer you are, you will benefit from what Scott has to teach you, and learn something from him. Scott was at disc golfing's ground zero when Oak Grove DGC was installed in 1975. His vast experience will entertain, educate, and elucidate. He will have his own discs available for you to purchase, and he will also be available to sign your favourite disc if you ask nicely.
