What Innova say about the Viking:
The Viking is one of our most versatile distance drivers from start to finish. The Viking is a long straight flyer with a very predictable fade at the end of the flight. This is an excellent disc for throwing both side arm and backhand shots due to its easy grip and neutral flight. The Viking is perfect for holding long, line drive shots as well as graceful left or right turning shots.
Innova Viking (Swirly Champion) PFN Lightweight
These PFN (Pre-Flight Numbers) discs are all from 2002 or so when they were made for the Japanese market, but they are all slightly above the (then) limit, which was 150 grams. And so these are all 151 to 155 grams.
The Champion plastic is soft, and gummy - unlike today's much stiffer Champion blend. You won't need any chalk to get a good grip on this excellent fairway driver.
Viking was first approved for PDGA play on June 2nd 2003, and has been a pivotal disc for many players. Its speed 9 wing makes it easy to control, while it's low glide prevents it climbing when thrown into a gentle headwind.
Think of this as a Latitude64 Saint, but with lower glide.
Intermediate players will love the dead-straight flight when thrown flat, and the reliable but gentle fade to finish.
As a lightweight disc, these fly fantastically well downwind, cross-wind, and in no wind. Ideal for ladies, kids, and smaller players.
And, as a PFN, they are highly collectable, and once they're gone, that's it!
